John T. Haller pictureAs today is my "kidneyversary", I wanted to again make a shameless blog post to remind everyone of the importance of being an organ donor. As some long-time portableapps.sitesunblocked.org s know, I donated a kidney to my father 16 years ago today. Over the years, I've coached a few people though the process as well.

John T. Haller pictureIt's been a couple years since I last posted about this, but I felt it was worth revisiting today (apologies for the pseudo-repost). I wanted to again make a short blog post to remind everyone of the importance of being an organ donor. As some long-time portableapps.sitesunblocked.org s know, I donated a kidney to my father 15 years ago today. Over the years, I've coached a few people though the process as well. If anyone is in a position where you're thinking of donating to a friend or loved one, I'm more than happy to share my experience and advice.

Greetings fellow Portable Appers. I wanted to give everyone a heads up that there will be a slowdown in new and updated apps for a few days. I'm going into surgery for a broken leg/ankle due to a fall on an icy sidewalk here in NYC. The surgery isn't suppose to be too bad, maybe an hour and a half. Recovery will take a couple months. I have to run as they're taking me earlier than expected. If something happens to me, there are contingency plans in place. I'll update as soon as I can.

As some long-time s know, I donated a kidney to my father back in 2000. 13 years ago today, as a matter of fact. So, I know the importance of living donor organ donation first hand.

We wanted to take a minute and let everybody know that we're splitting up our twitter into two s. Now that we have over 300 apps, pushing every app update announcement to Twitter makes the channel a bit too much of a firehose, too much for some Twitter fans. And the volume will only increase as we keep adding apps. So, we've decided to split things up into two Twitter s.
