ScreenshotTired of reaching for your volume knob every time your mp3 player changes to a new song? MP3Gain analyzes and adjusts mp3 files so that they have the same volume. MP3Gain does not just do peak normalization, as many normalizers do. Instead, it does some statistical analysis to determine how loud the file actually sounds to the human ear. Also, the changes MP3Gain makes are completely lossless. There is no quality lost in the change because the program adjusts the mp3 file directly, without decoding and re-encoding.

Copy It In 4r5d2f

If you rename aacgain to mp3gain.exe and drop it into MP3Gain Portable, you can use it portably. AACGain is command line only but designed to be compatible with the MP3Gain GUI.

i know. i'm using it since some years because mp3 is just a pain for audio lovers Smile

just would mention it for the masses, or a 2nd release with the needed changes already made.

Probably Not 152967

We probably won't add it in since it's not officially ed by MP3Gain GUI although it 'should' work. Unless there's a bigger demand for it. I don't use AAC at all myself.

Spamming or what? 3f6d3j

There is nothing about Aacgain at that link, just a site about interior design.

Error when launching 6u5lo

I'm using Win 7 64bit swedish

The program need that file to operate. The home page for the program offers a number of different s. Most importantly, it has one "normal" version and one "full" version which carries this note:

Exactly the same as the Normal install, but also includes the Microsoft Visual Basic run-time files. The VB run-time files only need to be installed on a computer once, so they might already be in your Windows folder. If you're not sure, then go ahead and this Full version. Or if you want to save some time, then try the Normal install first.

Since this note is from the zip file "no installer" , I assume that the program will use the Microsoft files if they are in the same directory as the program (the old DOS method - first check local directory, then check along the directories listed in the PATH environment variable).

Correct, Included 3p1k1u

That's why that file is included directly in the App\MP3Gain directory. I tested it and it works on a virgin Windows XP SP3 install as well as my Windows 7 x64 install. So something else must be up with this machine.

Maybe a non-english OS Problem? 4k3i6c

I've got the same problem with my Win7 x64 german Windows. Maybe a problem with non-english OS? The file is in the directory as you have written but it seems it cannot be found. Any idea?

Same problem 3m2q50

More Details 412u5l

Can one the folks having this issue please create a topic in the forums with more details like full install path, OS version, anything else running, /limited/guest , etc? And, also if you could try running the app directly (MP3GainGUI.exe in App\MP3Gain) to see what kind of an error message comes up? (Warning: This may leave traces on your local PC, of course). You can link to the forum post from a comment here and then we can all follow it and work out what the issue is.
