Thanks Gord for this great addition! Smile

Just one little thing I notice that ProcessHackerPortable leaves behind a hidden temp folder in the temp directory "ProcessHackerPortableTemp"

Are you sure? 64h4v

Are you sure it's actually closed? I just tested, and that folder isn't left behind on both my machine (Win 7 x64) and my testing VM (Win 7 x32).

Cleaned up successfully on my s193l

Cleaned up successfully on my WinXP machine, also.

here is a screenshot with the 396r35

here is a screenshot with the hidden folder. This is the first time I see any portable app create a hidden folder in the temp folder.

Manually delete 6k2r6v

If you manually delete the folder, does the folder come back again when you run & exit Process Hacker Portable?

Yes, unfortunately it does 3r697

An excellent replacement for Process Explorer 515510

A very nice program, though there were two odd things with the PortableApps version which don't happen with the ordinary portable zip file version from the main web site:

1. On first startup I got an error pop-up saying a DLL was missing an entry point or something. A Google search said this was due to a feature only available in Vista, but the error message didn't explain this.

2. I put ProcessHackerPortable.exe in the Startup folder and left it running all the time so it only closed down with the system. Every time I restarted it I got an error from the PortableApps launcher (not the Process Hacker program itself) saying it had not closed down properly and I would have to restart it manually.

I have Thunderbird Portable running in exactly the same way, so this seems only to affect the Process Hacker launcher.

1. I received the same error. 4z6p3l

1. I received the same error. First run was on Win XP. Haven't tried it yet on Win7.

2. That isn't a bug. All apps released here should do that if the launcher is killed prematurely (like when Windows is shutdown while the app is running). Thunderbird must be one of the few apps that can handle shutdown events properly, thus you haven't seen the clean up message on next run.

1. On XP, it's unable to load 1f2i72

1. On XP, it's unable to load ExtendedTools.dll (specified procedure not found) & asks if you want to disable the plugin.

Awesome addition, Gord! It immediately replaced Process Explorer. Got a similar app to replace Autoruns? Wink
