ScreenshotFrom the publisher: PeerBlock lets you control who your computer "talks to" on the Internet. By selecting appropriate lists of "known bad" computers, you can block communication with advertising or spyware oriented servers, computers monitoring your p2p activities, computers which have been "hacked", even entire countries! They can't get in to your computer, and your computer won't try to send them anything either. And best of all, it's free!

PeerBlock Portable includes the 32-bit and 64-bit variants of both the legacy and modern versions of PeerBlock, automatically selecting the appropriate one, for full on every PC you use.

Is this like a portable 3k2x2w

Is this like a portable Firewall?

Peerblock is an IP blocker, a special type of firewall 6s466h

Peerblock is an IP blocker meant to block ads, trackers, and protect privacy. It runs using lists of IPs, some of which are built in options and many others which can be ed at Peerblock lists at I-BlockList. Run Peerblock, load the lists you want, and start Interneting. Warning: many of these lists will produce "false blocks" but the Peerblock icon blinks every time it blocks so you know it's Peerblock and can create a temp or permanent allow if you actually want that IP to come through. Also, I've had network s express a strong dislike for IP blockers since in the hands of a novice it can create lots of tickets. But once you know how to use it (which lists, adding exceptions) and have the right expectation that Peerblock must be part of a multi-layered security approach, it's great!

Thanks for the detailed description Wink

Thanks for Peerblock! 631d44

This is great - no more maintaining 3 versions of Peerblock and copying conf files and lists between folders. This portable version runs on XP, Win7-32, and Win7-64 - all with the same config and lists! Thanks again, this is really helpful.

The Goal 6f4f23

That's the goal Smile It required a bit of custom coding to ensure it worked properly, but we thought this would be much easier for our s. It even works on Windows 2000.

Blocklist? 4s4f70

Does this go out and retrieve it's own blocklist, or do I need a separate app for that?

Retreives 6ca6v

It has the ability to retrieve and keep updated an ads blocklist, a P2P monitoring blocklist, a spyware blocklist, and an educational blocklist. You can also import and create your own blacklists/whitelists.
