RapidSVN is a cross-platform GUI front-end for the Subversion revision system (http://subversion.tigris.org/) written in C++ using the wxWidgets GUI framework. It is distributed under the GNU General Public License.
After you this launcher place it in the appropriate folder (ie. X:\PortableApps\RapidSVNPortable) and then execute it. It will prompt you for the location of the rapidsvn on your pc from where it will copy necessary files, and your ready to go.

This version works pretty well and the bookmark.

There is a small bug when it prompts you where to copy the RapidSVN source files from. If you click Cancel on that folder select dialog box it will wait a few seconds and then begin to copy some (dont' think random) folder. For me it starts to copy my entire flash drive into the PortableApps\RapidSVNPortable\App\RapidSVN directory.
I will fix this. For now don't change you mind
about file copy.
I'd also like to install the command line client alongside this.
Has anyone created a portable version of svn.exe? I understand it does update the registry...

As far as I know there is no portable svn.exe. But I think it does not access registry. Maybe installer writes to registry uninstall keys and it puts exe to path, but if you put all files in one folder it should work.

the launcher is working. And if something is working there is no need to fix it
I'm not supplying the app (RapidSVN) you must it and install it on you home pc. When you run launcher (you must put on the flash drive in the portableapps program files) for the first time he will copy necessary files to the flash drive. When there is new version of the app you need to replace (overwrite) old files.

Hello! I'm using apache 2.2 with mod_dav_svn and mod_authz_svn. All the repositories are / protected for reading and editing.
And when I tried to checkout a new working copy, it doesn't ask for and automatically gives this message:
Execute: Checkout
Error: Error while performing action: PROPFIND request failed on '/svn/Impuesto'
PROPFIND of '/svn/Impuesto': authorization failed (http://localhost)

I hadn't tested in svnserve but I guess it will be the same.

Hello, well i think it's a bug of the checkout. but i found a temporal solution:
1. Right click on bookmarks
2. click Add Existing working copy
3. Chose an empty folder, when you select the empty folder it will give you an error:
Error: Error while updating filelist ('d:\Documents and Settings\ROMANJP\Escritorio\FER\svn-win32-1.4.4\WorkingCopies\XXX2' is not a working copy
Can't open file 'd:\Documents and Settings\ROMANJP\Escritorio\FER\svn-win32-1.4.4\WorkingCopies\XXX2\.svn\entries': El sistema no puede hallar la ruta especificada. )
The error it's in spanish but it says: the system can't find the .svn path inside the directory.
4. Now right click in the bookmark you just created, an click checkout new working copy, choose the repository path and in the destination folder choose the bookmark you created.
5. IT WILL ASK YOU FOR
Example:
1. add existing workin copy -> C:\work (It gives you the error)
2. on the new bookmark rignh click -> checkout new working copy
3. repository: http://localhost/svn/repo1 ; destination folder: c:\work
4. IT WILL ASK YOU FOR

RapidSVN stores its settings in a section of the registry which only s can write to. Thus, without complex registry hooking which we don't do here, RapidSVN Portable is impossible.
Quite frankly, I reckon this RapidSVN Portable project should just be dropped completely.

The issue is purely that it stores its settings in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. And as far as s are concerned, that it uses the Subversion library. (It can't help that though.)

It looks like the install link is broken for RapidSVN_Portable_0.9.6.0.paf.exe?! I would really like to find out where it went so I can use it. Anybody have any ideas?

As I explained above, it's not really portable as it requires istrative privileges to keep its settings. What's more it's not in the current portableapps.sitesunblocked.org Format. I would recommend that you use Subcommander Portable; I didn't find it too bad to work with when I was using SVN repositories.

can you update?
I can't the installer as Symantec endpoint protection classifies it as Malware.
I ed the installer, created a RapidSVNportable folder and put the Launcher in that.
I added an App and a Data directory.
In App/RapidSVN I have everything from the local RapidSVN installation.
When I launch RapidSVN and try to add an existing working copy I get a "Browse For Folder" window, which is pretty much empty. Just under "Folder" there is the word "Profile".
What next?
