[Fixed] HM NIS Edit Portable not running scripts

I just found a bunch of bugs in some new portable apps!!!

CrystalDiskInfo Portable: Leaves startup value: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\CrystalDiskInfo

SystemExplorer Portable: Leaves startup value: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\SystemExplorerAutoStart

BleachBit Portable: Leaves entry in Start Menu -> Programs -> Startup called "bleachbit"

EDIT: Note that you have to change some options that say something like "start with windows" or "startup" for those to be created.

(Crossed out by popular demand.)

HM NIS Edit Portable: I have my Portable Apps set up so it’s C:\portableapps.sitesunblocked.org\PortableApps (and I have NSIS Portable in there, too), however, the launcher is set up only to set the NSIS directory to C:\PortableApps\NSISPortable.

So I change the directory and I can compile scripts fine, but when I try to run the scripts, I get an error that the file was not found. But I can still manually go with explorer and open up the EXE, but I can’t start it from the NISEdit. I don’t know if it’s related to the first issue (I haven’t checked yet I checked and it's not) but I know that back when NSIS was included in NISEdit, it worked great.

Sorry to make you work harder Sad

Improper Format

First, no need to freak out. These are simple basic bugs. Second, these have to be posted singly, one per app, with the keyword [Bug] starting the subject. Thirdly, no commentary is necessary, just the exact facts and how to reproduce and, if you have it, how to fix.

Any 'bugs' that you have to manually set the app to 'start with windows' or 'set as default...' within the app to reproduce will be marked as invalid. You're not supposed to set portable apps to do that.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

.

I didn't mean to look like I was freaking out, but now that I read it again, I guess it looks like I kinda did. Shock I originally was going to post them separately, but I thought one sentence was too short to post in a topic all by itself.

I also tried to launch HM NIS Edit Portable from G:\PortableApps\HMNISEditPortable (my flash drive) with NSISPortable also in the PortableApps folder. No problem (as expected) with compiling, but I still get the "the system cannot find the file specified error message"

Any 'bugs' that you have to manually set the app to 'start with windows' or 'set as default...' within the app to reproduce will be marked as invalid.

Ok. I just thought bulletproofing would be good because I know someone somewhere will go and try to start a portable app with windows and fail--or succeed but then their apps might lose settings and then they post here and stuff saying they have a bug. Just like they do trying to set Firefox Portable to be their default browser.

Plus it'd be easier now with PAL.

[EDIT] Fixed the format Biggrin
