BartPE-based LiveCD for launching ClamWin Portable, the definitions on USB: how?

I'm looking for a way to do the off-line rootkit detection tool.
Is it possible to store the signtures on USB while launcing the AV from a LiveCD?

I would think not for most cases

In the options screen you can set the location of the data files and you could do that before burning the CD, but unless your USB key will always be the same drive letter that you set there you couldn't guarantee the definitions would be found.

If your going to store the definitions on the usb thereby making the usb a required part of your setup, why not just put the app and definitions on the usb?
