As noted when Calibre was in the portableapps dev...my calibre portableapps install creates a C:\s\*usrname*\AppData\Local\calibre-cache folder where it caches opened book data.
Is this still a normal thing for this to happen or do I need to reinstall Calibre Portable?
If that is the case...is there any know procedure to store this information elsewhere?

I think calibre Portable is built with the assumption you keep the main UI open and close it last. If you open an ebook and close the main calibre before closing the book, it looks like it will be left behind. Is that the behavior you're seeing?

This is fixed in calibre Portable 6.17.0. The launcher will now wait for the ebook viewer to close as well.
