ClamWin Portable won't start in Windows ME q6c20

Submitted by limextreme on November 6, 2007 - 8:35am

Hi! I have just ed ClamWin to scan my old PC for viruses. It was able to start without any bugs or glitches when I used it on my Windows XP computer but when I try to run it on my Windows ME, it won't start at all. I just see the splash screen, then it disappears but ClamWin doesn't appear at all. Is there something I need to do for it to work on Windows ME? I've tried using the launcher at the X:/PortableApps/ClamWinPortable/ClamWinPortable.exe and the executable in the BIN folder but still it won't run. Please help. Thanks in advance.

ClamWin Portable V0.88.5

The menu option "Help, Check Latest Version" links to http://www.clamwin.com/index.php?
option=content&task=view&id=40&Itemid=60&version=0.88.5

This is the link for the PC version of ClamWin. Should the program not link to s the Clamwin page on the Portable Apps web-site, as there do not appear to be any updates for ClamWin portable on the ClamWin web site.

Kee: Simple update o2p67

Kee 1.09 is available.

the portable version here: http://prs.sourceforge.net/kee/Kee-1.09.zip?

Then extract to x:\PortableApps\KeePortable\App\kee

Instant upgrade. Work flawlessly. I am sure John will be updating when he irons out the new installers and launchers, but this works within the paf format.

Kee: the "choose which drive database ..." 1d4g2z

I am not sure what setting I chose, but there is now a spot that asks me to choose a drive where the database is kept. If I do not choose a drive, it shows a red x. I can still type in my and it opens the database fine (it knows where it is) but if I choose a drive, then, the place to type in is greyed out and I have to manually then choose the database file to open.

Just wondering what others may have done to get rid of that option.

KeeForm plugin installation fails (even after necessary manual kee 1.08) 591b2c

Submitted by flabber on September 25, 2007 - 4:31am

I have tried to install the KeeForm plugin into the present 1.07 version of Kee, which obviously doesn't work since this is a problem with version 1.07.

This issue was solved in Kee version 1.08, so i replaced the kee.exe and kee.chm files. This upgraded the Portable Kee to version 1.08, but did not resolve the issue with KeeForm not working.

By the way if you'r not familiar with KeeForm, this is not a regular plug-in. to install one has to add a line to the kee.ini file. My intuition says that this is somehow why i can't get KeeForm to work.

Kee: version 1.08 4d2a2s

Is there a 1.08 portable version available? The Kee site implies this, but at portableapps.sitesunblocked.org it still refers to 1.07?
