Kee: Use Both v1 and v2? 2g3z2v

Submitted by Bulldog on September 11, 2007 - 2:22pm

On my home computer I have .Net installed (for better or worse), therefore I can use Kee v.2

On my computer at work .Net is not installed. So...

If I "install" v.1 on my USB drive, can I use v.2 on my home computer and v.1 on my work computer (via the USB drive)?

To give an example: If I were to add or change s at work, with v.1, could I 'synch' the revised database with v.2 at home?

Kee: Copying Key File k3y6o

Submitted by Orius on September 10, 2007 - 9:00am

I usually backup my portable drive every few days using MS Synctoy. Was wondering if I will have to redo all of my stored s if I ever have to use the backup up files, in other words will the keyfile and file work if they are copied to a new location? (I am thinking no).

Thanks,
Zack

ClamWin: Still doesn't work 252326

Submitted by kiwichick on August 23, 2007 - 4:31pm

I have been trying since version 0.88.5 and I can't get the program to work because "ClamWin Antivirus has encountered a problem and needs to close". I have tried it on 3 different computers and about 7 different hard drives and the result is still the same. As my previous post made on 1 March 2007 was never replied to I am hoping that by submitting a new post I might get some help.

ClamWin: Email, Inbox File from Thunderbird 5e6n3o

Submitted by arizona480 on August 22, 2007 - 4:47am

I did a scan and found this "infected" file:

C:\Netscape\s\"me"\Mail\pop.west.cox.net\Inbox: Email.Phishing.Pay-8 FOUND

Infected files: 1

Was it picking up something in the weblink to the phishing site or is there a file inbedded?

Hi,

I can read this information on kee website, http://kee.info/index.html

* Kee 1.x: Runs on all Windows systems without any prerequisites. Does not need to be installed; is portable. Fewer features than 2.x.

* Kee 2.x: Runs on Windows XP and higher with Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher installed. Does not need to be installed; is portable.

McAfee vs. ClamWin 123n2j

Has anybody else been having problems with McAfee and their ClamWinP ??

For a couple of weeks now McAfee has been finding a virus in :
ClamWinPortable\Data\db\daily.inc\daily.ndb
and keeps quarantining it.

Now, before anyone jumps on me Blum
1. I am sure that ClamWin is NOT infected with a virus and I am not reporting it as such, I am sure it is a false positive.
2. I am sure this is a problem affecting ClamWin, not just CWP.

It is detected as "New Script.c"

I think the file has something to do with ClamWin "unpacking" its updates.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Clamwin in SystemTray 5n5573

Submitted by Bigpapa on July 30, 2007 - 7:52am

Browsing in the Clamwin portable folder, I've noticed there is a ClamTray.exe file in the "bin" folder. In portable configuration, how is it possible to get Clamwin in the systemTray? Pardon
I prefer ask before tying something wrong and I want to be sure to that it won't leave anything on the hosting PC.
Thanks for reply.
