any need for portable gimp with working help files? 2u6k

Submitted by papabus on June 1, 2006 - 6:05pm

Hey,

I am not sure if it is wanted... for personal use I got the help files working in the portable gimp.
It was just too easy so perhaps I am just making a fool out of my self presenting it.... However, its seems (in the gimp forum here) some ppl are asking how to get it working. Perhaps a central dowload on this site should help them?

most regards

UltraVNC viewer Portable 3g6z1

Submitted by Machete on May 30, 2006 - 12:47pm

I had been thinking of making a launcher for this for some time. Then, just this past weekend, it finally sunk in - uvnc is GPL! So, I modified the source to the vncviewer app, so it is now portable (I originally implemented a "-portable" parameter, which is still available below).

Compilers i94g

Submitted by tena on May 30, 2006 - 4:45am

Hi All!
I'm working on an app to launch latex compilers for math typing from a text editor.
Actually I've to use absolute path to the compiler living on USB-stick, is there someone who dealt with a workaround to let this path not depending on USB-disk-letter assigned from Windows?
Many thanks for any ideas
Paolo

Portable Application Template 1.4 released 541e34

Submitted by Klonk on May 29, 2006 - 7:41am

This template should be suitable for most applications to make them portable.

it here (latest version 1.4.2):
http://www.loncarek.de/s/ApplicationPortableTemplate.zip

It allows saving a lot settings (one or all of them at once):
- One or more registry keys
- One or more settings directories
- One or more settings files

The source contains a lot comments, documenting what I did and why (for those who want to learn).

Need help to make TV-Browser portable 1g34x

Submitted by sylvio2000 on May 29, 2006 - 7:14am

TV-Browser stores its settings on Harddisk.
I found out (in the tv-browser forum) that you only have to change some absolute paths into relative paths. But I dont know how to do it. Hope somebody can help me. Here are the paths:

# In this folder TV-Browser stores the settings
dir=${.home}/TV-Browser

# In this folder TV-Browser stores the TV listings
tvdatadir=${.home}/TV-Browser/tvdata

# In this folder TV-Browser stores the plugins
#pluginsdir=${.home}/TV-Browser/plugins

What does this entry mean? (RegWrapper) 2h542z

Submitted by cch on May 21, 2006 - 1:22pm

I tried to use regwarper to take care of xmplay.
However, when I used regshot to check entry, I found only entry "HKU\xxxxxx" are listed. like this:
HKU\S-1-5-21-3861040112-4126761641-4252535763-1003\Software\Un4seen Developments\XMPlay2
HKU\S-1-5-21-3861040112-4126761641-4252535763-1003_Classes\XMPlay

I found some xmplay entry in hkey_current_use and other places are not listed. What does those numbers mean? serial number of my computer? What entry I should use actually?
