Well, the problem is not so much resolved as it is no longer appearing.

Ok, absolute Noob, but I just installed 0.88.7 to my usb drive, ran it and got this: (tried 6 times over 30 minutes until I saw the line about the mirrors)

This is an odd one I can't find any reference to anywhere... Calmwin 88.5, Win 2000 pro, sp4, no extra updates, FAT file system (a complete overwrite install over top of a freshly installed ME system - it deleted ME and any settings first, so it's fresh).

Is there any way to speed this program up? I ran Norton along side of Clamwin and Norton moves so fast it makes Clamwin appear to be standing still. I'd also like to know why we haven't seen any more new programs added to this site lately. I seeing an emulator section on here once but I never saw anything in it.

I can get ClamWin to work on Vista when it is on a thumbdrive. But when you try to get it to work on the PC its self thats the problem. I get an error when scanning. Saying that access is denied. Anyone know what can be done to fix this?

When portable software files are moved between computers, the case of the filenames may get changed, for example from "lib" to "LIB". For some portableapps packages, such as ClamWin and Nvu, this will keep the packages from working properly.

In the case of ClamWin, the symptom of this problem is that the portable-apps package splash screen appears promptly, and then the executable tries to launch but immediately vanishes; there is no visible activity after the splash screen.

just installed clamwin portable for the first time. at first, a message comes up saying that there is no virus database, do i want to the latest, and i say yes, and it begins. but then it says, first, that the version (88.5) is old and eventually says that it cannot install a virus database at all. when i try to do a scan anyway, the scan button is grayed out. Here is the log:

I'm looking for a way to do the off-line rootkit detection tool.
Is it possible to store the signtures on USB while launcing the AV from a LiveCD?

Just to let someone know that Spyware Dr. Detects clawinportable.exe as Trojan.Popuper.er. I did check the file on several multi engine scans and it does come out negative. I have reported the issue to spyware Dr. but I have not had any news yet....
