Problem with detaching and deleting attached files 5v2e1m

Submitted by Mowdya on January 16, 2007 - 2:44am

Hi,

I've installed Thunderbird Portable on a 128 USB key. As it's a pretty short memory, I detach or delete all the attached files of my mails that I want to keep.
On the Thunderbird window, it appears that the size of the message is lower. But when I look at the folders on the installation directory of the program, the size of the folders remains the same. Means that, after some days, even if I detach all the attached files I get, I won't be able to use the program anymore cause I'll reach the max. capacity of my key. What can I do ?

Running local instance and portable Thunderbird parallel? 2t302z

Submitted by samba on January 15, 2007 - 5:15am

Hi,

I have following problem. The computer where I work has a local instance of Thunderbird already running. So it does work to start the portable version unless I close the local version. Since the local version contains my job mail, the portable my private one, this is not very comfortable. Is there a way to run both parallel?

Lost all emails and s on Thunderbird for U3 3x3k4u

Submitted by patdine on January 12, 2007 - 5:27pm

have been using Thunderbird for U3 on my U3 USB stick for sometime and have multiple email s configured. Now, suddenly for some reason - and I am not sure why, may have been a virus or something -- all teh emails and email s are gone.

When I open Thunderbird, it shows up as if I had just installed it for the first time and is asking me to set up email s etc.

I did not manually back up any of those emails. Are they somewhere in a folder? does Thunderbird have them somewhere?

not receiving all emails 3c5q29

I have just set up TB portable and have found that not all emails are ing... not sure why. I have checked all settings and they seem correct. What alerted me first this was when I was expecting some emails with attachments and they were not coming through, but when I close down TB Portable and open regular TB they from the server (I have both TB versions set to leave emails on the server)

any assistance on this matter would be appreciated.

Exporting a Sunbird calendar into Thunderbird+Lightning 365k5f

Submitted by fergus on January 11, 2007 - 10:45am

I spent ages writing my 2007 paper diary into Sunbird. Then I discovered Lightning as a Thunderbird extension. I would like to suck all the painful data straight out of SB into TB+L. However depending on the application neither of the suggestive "Import" or "Export" menu items seems (to me) to work in the way that one might have expected or hoped. Am I doomed to stick with separate SB and TB, or duplicate the awful labour of building the calendar in TB+L or can anybody instruct me how to achieve the desired endpoint quickly and efficiently? Thank you.

Exporting Pegaus Mail email into Thunderbird Portable 6h4q3i

Submitted by stromy93 on January 10, 2007 - 1:12pm

I've got Pegasus Mail on my mail computer, but am wondering how I can export in the mail that's under Pegasus. I know there's an export for emails, but doesn't want to acknowledge Pegasus. Any suggestions. Might want to do up an extension or that for those of us that uses Pegasus on our main computers. Thanks!

Printing email messages 634k71

Submitted by GFarnsworth on January 9, 2007 - 7:40pm

Whenever I send an email message to print from Thunderbird Portable it always prints FULL headers -- nearly a whole page of stuff I am not interested in.

This is a portable issue! I have been using Thunderbird non-portable for a couple of years and I have never run into this problem.

1. The email message is displayed WITHOUT headers.

2. I ask it to print the message. The screen display remains WITHOUT headers, but the message prints WITH all headers.

3. The message is also displayed on Print Preview WITH all headers.

Inside an encrypted drive, can TB standard replace TB portable? (plus other questions) 45e1q

Submitted by paololombardi on January 6, 2007 - 11:31am

Hi,
I've been using Truecrypt for some years, and inside the encrypted drive (which is just a 2gb file stored on an external USB drive) I manage as "portable apps" Eudora Pro, Palm Desktop and Oxygen Nokia Phone Manager.
I have all my emails sent/received since 1996, for all my 14 s.

Now I'd like to move to Thunderbird, since Eudora is not reliable and I have problems in character encoding.
I could wait the next release of Eudora which should be based on Thunderbird, but I'd like to start moving to new mailbox format now.
