Compose stays open 4b5v27

Submitted by darylu on November 23, 2006 - 5:50pm

I use TB portable. Recently, it seems that if I sent an emal from a FireFox link, the Compose window stays open and shows 100% sent. The message is in the Sent folder, but the Compose window stays active. If I send another email directly from TB, it seems to "flush" it through.

I've been experimenting with a suite of Open Source, Portable Apps on a flashdrive. Sometimes I move them to a PC, run them, then move them back. Then maybe to another PC. This open Compose window has happened rather recently. I can't link it to any specific changes.

Thanks, I've used these forums alot to get me going on this.

Importing Address Books 2u2f53

Hallo All,

Is there any reason why PTB does not pick up Outlook's address book?

Outlook is set to make itself the default email client, but PTB does not detect any other email clients.

When I export my s to a csv file, PTB does not seem to pick up the EOL character so my s flow into each other.

Thanks
Paul

Thunderbird -storage-file (encryption) 6312z

Hi,

can please somebody tell me where thunderbird stores the -s?
I didn't find no info, neither here nor in the entire web(?!)

I'm asking this in association with the encryption-topic. Namely I intend to encrypt only those files where my s are, cause my USB-Stick is not the fastest and encrypting/decrypting the whole profile-folder takes nearly a minute. I plan to use (somehow) EncryptOnClick with only one batch-file, which makes it encrypt/decrypt only these files in both GAIM's and Thunderbird's profile-folder (and perhaps my address book).

What do you think about this solution? OK, IF someone gets my stick he will still be able to read some email-headers, but this is not that bad (at least for me).

TBP can't connect at work 1j2j3j

Submitted by Zeedok on November 21, 2006 - 5:13pm

Tried the three different security settings at work but can't get TBP to access my personal POP mail s. I have just managed to get it working for my work address but replicating the settings (IMAP server, SSL connection, outgoing server TLS if available).

What have I got wrong?

Would I need to reset the default outgoing server each time I use a new computer with different internet connections??

SMTP Problem…I think. 3a4v6q

Submitted by Justice on November 17, 2006 - 10:57am

Hi

I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as me when I use my Portable Thunderbird.

I must point out that this is not a problem that Portable Thunderbird is causing but more of a general question.

When you have a POP and SMTP e-mail provided by your ISP I have noticed that you have to be logged on through that ISP to gain access to the SMTP server. I understand why they do this to prevent spammers etc but what can a genuine Portable Thunderbird do to get around this problem ?

I have tried programs like Free SMTP but nothing seems to work.

So my question is how do I send and receive e-mail from my ISP e-mail whilst logging on with my Portable Thunderbird on a host computer from a different ISP ?
