Problem using jpeg logo in html signature file 552wb

Submitted by johnny on October 22, 2006 - 3:02pm

Hi
I have used Word to create a signature file that includes a jpeg company logo
with some other text and saved it as a web page file. I have set up Thunderbird
(version 2 alpha 1) to use this file but when I "compose" a new email the text of the signature file appears ok but an empty box appears where the logo should be with a little red diamond in the top left hand corner. If I try to send the message anyway a dialog box appears "Attaching image002.gif" but nothing more happens.
I have checked that the option in Thunderbird settings for compose messages in html is ticked.
Thanks

Setting up TBP with Enigmail+GPG for the very first time..? n4a6x

Submitted by naitsirk on October 22, 2006 - 7:57am

Hallois

I set up PGP Desktop about a month ago in order to send emails encrypting with pgp, but soon after having set it up I had some major data loss (my SD Memory Card died on me).

I found out I am suppose to be able to use TBP with GPG, so would prefer to use that as TBP is my favourite e-mail client anyways. Smile

So, since I've lost the first pgp-key I created etc, how do I really go about getting this set up in TBP for the first time?

Didn't learn much when setting up with PGP Deskptop, so really have no experience with PGP/GPG usage..

I have the TBP 1.5.0.5 with Enigmail+GPG version, but can't seem to find any setting for it inside thunderbird, or how do I go about setting this up?

Can PTB be configured to use a portable LDAP server? 2v1h6k

Submitted by PollieXmas on October 20, 2006 - 12:24pm

Hallo All,

Does anyone know whether it would be possible to setup a portable LDAP server?

The idea is to then point PTB and Outlook to use the same (portable) LDAP server which would simplify synchronising my Windows Mobile 2005 device with PTB and the two copies of Outlook.

FinchSync does not work for me as it does not allow your phone to be the master device, i.e. the phone (100 s) keeping PTB (same 100 s) and Outlook (same 100 s) in synch as opposed to duplicating their data on the phone (the 100 duplicated for each source).

Continous updating fo multiple s 304y4a

Hi,
I use TB 2 Alpha 1.I also used outlook express before which had an option to check messages after a certain number of minutes, and then all the s created would get updated automatically. It had not problem with the number of s.
How ever I have set TB to work with two POP s, and both have been set to get
mails after a certain number of minutes, the problem is it seems that only one mail gets updated.and i have to manually click get all mail button to get the other to get it;s mail.
Is there a way to set TB to get mails for all the s after a certian number of minutes as in Outlook express.

Sync Thunderbird with Thunderbird Portable? 534n6m

Submitted by radioheadboy on October 19, 2006 - 4:56pm

Hi,

I have decided to use normal Thunderbird on my home computer and Portable Thunderbird on a USB stick at work to view RSS feeds.

Is it possible to sync the the Portable Thunderbird to my home computer when I get home? Is it as simple as what is on the page - "Copying you local Thunderbird settings" just in reverse?

Thanks in advance,

Phil

All messages marked unread if I use PTB on a computer never used before 571f4r

Submitted by rmiraPTB on October 18, 2006 - 8:02pm

Hello,

I have searched the forum for "unread" in order to make sure I am not repeating a previous post, and didn't find anything applicable. Sorry, if I missed something.

I have moved from 10 years of Eudora usage to PTB on a USB flash drive and love it. There is just one single issue, which I encountered. Every time I use PTB on a computer I never used it before, almost all mailboxes and all messages therein will be marked as unread again. The Shift-Ctrl-C command only works on folders without subfolders. Thus, it is rather painstaking to set all messages to read again.
Is there a way to stop this (the resetting to unread) from happening in the future?

Slooooow Down v1.5.0.5 3y4hl

Submitted by colfrank on October 17, 2006 - 5:50pm

Overnight TB slowed to a crawl.
Program load takes "forever", message loading is slow, Delting a msg is real slow.
Did Compact Folders.
Seems that I that deleting a file in each folder that will be rebuilt on startup fixes this problem.
Am I having a "Senior Moment" or is there a such a delete a file fix?
Regards,
Frank

The thunderbird a2 is out already. I've been using portable thunderbird a1 for months and enjoyed using it, except for few bugs. Hope that the portable a2 will be out soon. Keep on the good job!

Also how do I archive emails from USB's TB into PC's TB?
