Problem deleting emails 1y324s

After much Hesitation I've desided to start using Thunderbird (portable edition). However, when I try to delete an email I get "The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: [TRYCREATE] The requested item could not be found.." I went offline and deleted the email, then again from the trash bin, and it was gone. But when I got online again, I received the same email I had just deleted (obviously, it's still in the server). Please help, thanks

PS: John (and helpers), thanks for all the fantastic programs that you're putting out. I really appreciate the "free" work you do here, and it makes me mad to see when some people complain.

Ghost in the machine? 1x11k

Here's something I haven't seen before. Occasionally, I'll get a pop-up message at the lower right hand corner of my screen that says "1 new message". I'll go into my TB folders, and won't find any new e-mails there. Are these potential spam messages that TB is deleting before I even get a chance to see them? Or is there something else going on? It's not a crucial problem; I was just wondering what's going on.

Hi all,

I have recently discovered Portable Apps, like the idea and would like to switch as much of my software usage to this suite as well as other portable programs, to give me more flexibility while commuting and travelling.

While taking a look Portable Thunderbird 1.5, I found the behavior described below, which to me looks like a feature (?) / problem of the PTB launcher.
Has anybody encountered this as well and found a solution ?
Did I do something wrong, if so, what do I need to change ?

Your help would be most welcome ...

Thanks

Christian

Get Mail Button not functioning 3r5z3w

Submitted by punk0001 on September 27, 2006 - 8:46am

Hi all,

I am having problems with recently installed Thunderbird Portable 1507. Initially all worked well. That is until I declined the program internet access on one occasion. Since this time GET MAIL does nothing and the timed message feature tells me I have new messages but doesn't actually them.

I can still mail using ;
a)file> get new messages for
b)using the drop down sub menu arrow to the right of the get mail button
c)CTRL-SHIFT-T

I have tried going offline and back on again. I have also checked server settings. Automatically new messages and check every 10 mins is ticked. All others fields are not ticked. I am stuck here and don't know where to try next.

cross OS usage 3n6o72

If this has been discussed before, I apologize.

Is there any way to set one profile on a USB drive that can be used be both Thunderbird Portable for Windows and Thunderbird Portable for OS X without any hassle of syncing? Basically, I will be using both OS's and want my one profile to be active for both versions without noticing a difference.

Thanks for the help.

I ed, installed, and started using Thunderbird Portable about 20 minutes ago. Wow! What a cool thing, and it was really easy to implement.

My only question, I know that Outlook Express has an option to automatically check email every x number of minutes. I can't seem to locate this option in Thunderbird. Is it not available in Thunderbird, or am I not looking in the right place? Thanks in advance for your help.

Oh, also, I configured it to check my GMail , but I will be having it check other s as well. Will the port settings all be the same, regardless of th
