Thunderbird Portable 643h13

Update o install new version 4f5i5u

Submitted by fjjimgar on October 17, 2020 - 2:40am

When an application like firefox or thunderbird portable tells us that there is an update, if we update, it is still just as portable? Or maybe it would be better to continue installing the different versions that appear on portableapp.com?

Thanks

Thunderbird Apps denied by Gmail 12o44

Submitted by arielheryanto on October 12, 2020 - 9:53pm

From a couple of hours ago I can no longer access my office email (Gmail-based). Google sent me a message, saying that it had blocked my access, because Google considered Thunderbird portable apps “doesn't meet our security standards”.

Having routinely relied on Thunderbird portable apps for the past 20 years, this news shocked me. Did anyone experience the same? Does anyone have any advice on how to meet this challenge? Thanks.

Portable Thunderbird No More Portable Than Mainstream Thunderbird? 5v271o

Submitted by dr.duane.thresher on October 8, 2020 - 5:27pm

Before I heard of Portable Thunderbird I tried -- successfully but not enough for me -- to do this myself using mainstream Thunderbird and just inputting the removable drive as the installation directory.

This was a Windows 10 Dell laptop that had had the previous installation of Thunderbird on its C: drive deleted, including ALL Mozilla/Thunderbird directories. The removable drive (D:) was an SDHC.

The new Thunderbird was 78.2.2 and the custom install settings were:

Install Location D:\Mozilla Thunderbird\
Install Maintenance Service

Why is ThunderbirdPortable using non-portable locations? g6660

Submitted by renaldafeen on October 1, 2020 - 8:30pm

I have standard Thunderbird installed in the standard location on my C: drive.
I just created a fresh install of Thunderbird Portable on a thumb drive using the PortableApps app.
Before creating ANY or profile information, I navigate to /// -> Help -> Troubleshooting Information.
I see that the Update Folder parameter is pointing to a directory in C:\ProgramData\Mozilla\updates; this is NOT portable.

ThunderbirdPortable 68.12.0 two versions? 3z4h24

Submitted by codeprezzer on September 20, 2020 - 5:51am

Hi Guys,

what's the difference between these two packages:

ThunderbirdPortable_68.12.0_English.paf.exe
vs
ThunderbirdPortableLegacy68_68.12.0_English.paf.exe

as have already earlier applied the ThunderbirdPortable_68.12.0_English.paf.exe,
do we need to "reinstall" (same version) with the ThunderbirdPortableLegacy68_68.12.0_English.paf.exe ?

Thanks,
